IAS can be installed only any vehicle, from forklift to ultra-class mining truck. However, there are some considerations on cable length, number and positioning of cameras, typical vehicle speed, and vehicle operation to consider.

IAS is not designed for purely on-road vehicles. Their typical speeds and therefore required detection distances are better suited to long-range and autonomous solutions.

IAS is not designed for underground vehicles, for the following reasons: the hardware is not currently intrinsically safe; the visibility due to tunnel geometry, dust, and light/dark are not suited to AI vision; communications are less reliable; and distances and what constitutes ‘safe’ are different.

Not directly. IAS alerts operators and people around to the risk but does not take control of a vehicle. However, the IAS output can be used as the input for a 3rd party solution that does take control of a vehicle.

No. IAS is an awareness system and not a critical safety system. IAS provides alerts to operators and people around, and allows them to take action. IAS does not replace safety planning and best practice.

No. Operators and site users do not require any mobile device or app. They interact with IAS video and alerts.

IAS does not require any connectivity for detections and alerts. IAS does require a connection to the internet to send data to the cloud for reporting and to receive AI updates. This only needs to happen roughly once per week. The connection is most commonly by the 4G sim but can also use existing comms on the vehicle.

The wifi is only used for local configuration and is not used to connect to the internet.

Yes. IAS uses an alert trigger to determine whether the vehicle is ‘dangerous’ or ‘safe’ and automatically activate and deactivate detections. The alert trigger is commonly reverse or hydraulic lock.

Yes. IAS supports up to 6 cameras that can be placed around the vehicle in the desired areas.
