How much data does IAS use?
There are 4 main categories of IAS data use.
(Re)configuration
~10MB | upload and download | rare
Remotely (re)configuring IAS requires a small amount of data to change settings and live stream some video. (Re)configuration is relatively rare.
Detection
~250KB/detection | upload | daily
Every detection is uploaded to the cloud. The detection package size is roughly 250KB. The required data volume depends on the number of detections.
AI update
~500MB | download | fortnightly
An AI update to improve detection performance is roughly 500MB and happens roughly fortnightly to monthly.
Full system update
~5GB | download | yearly
A full system update, including OS, security, and AI can be in the order 5GB. This will only occur once or twice per year.
What happens if I lose internet connection?
IAS does not require a constant internet connection. If internet is lost, any uploads will be stored on the device and any downloads will be automatically paused until connectivity is regained.
What kind of sim goes IAS require?
IAS should use a data-only sim with roughly 10GB of data per month, ideally pooled across all devices.
